Haiku-like poetry can be fun.
I find just a few words can lead towards an unveiling of small chunks of wisdom that may be waiting quietly in one's subconscious.
Genie Sea of Reality Insanity Blog is a poet and an artist and posted a small challenge to her visitors last week. She presented to us a verse about Life and asked everyone to play along. I did and enjoyed the experience. You may do the same.
This is Genie's first verse:
Life is...
a mystery
with clues along the way
some red herrings
and exciting revelations
And this is my contribution:a mystery
with clues along the way
some red herrings
and exciting revelations
Life is ...
friendships
with fun and sharing along the way
laughter and tears and, occasionally,
a falling out or two.

with fun and sharing along the way
laughter and tears and, occasionally,
a falling out or two.
Try this and let me know if it worked for you ...

Life is...
ReplyDeletea chain
of people holding hands
back into the forgotten past
and on forward into futures.
Life is ...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful
Filled with laughter, love, and smiles
And experiences both good and bad.
SUGARCAIN
ReplyDelete'people holding hands back into the forgotten past' ... lovely!
I am indebted to GENIE SEA for this idea. I didn't mean to steal it ... I was really only passing on my little effort and the joy I felt with the doing.Genie knew I was passing on her introductory stanza.
It seems Sugarcain and now Judy have felt similarly. Says something doesn't it?
JUDY
ReplyDeleteBalanced as usual. Good stuff!
Life is....
ReplyDeleteMemories.
They fill your mind along the way,
some good, some bad; but none you can change.
So, reflect, take a hold and look ahead.
A Write Blig
ReplyDeleteI'm into those positive thoughts ...
They reflect reality and we all need a nudge in that direction eh?
I kept looking at it and decided to take out one word;
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I hope I'm not going to take myself too seriously.
Life is....
Memories.
They fill your mind along the way,
some good, some bad; none you can change.
So, reflect, take a hold and look ahead.
I reckon good writers always worry about one word don't you? 'Worry' is part of the fun.
